FUNDRAISING
“A funding raising campaign is currently being conducted throughout the Northborough/Southborough areas. The campaign will run through the month July. Our intentions are to raise awareness in the community of our local program. This program is dedicated to providing our area’s children with strong foundations in basic sports etiquette, a sound understanding of football basics, the importance of attention to physical fitness, and fair play.

FOOTBALL ANNOUNCEMENTS
AUGUST SCHEDULE 8/4 - Equipment Handout
8/5, 8/6, 8/7 - Practice begins for all teams except Tiny Mites. Their practice will begin on 8/11.
Please refer to the August Practice Schedule on the Football page.
8/20 - Scrimmage - Against Hopkinton/Ashland - Times and directions to follow.
Tentative: B and D teams will play at home. E and C teams will play in Ashland.
8/14 - MANDATORY Picture Night - Offical pictures will be taken at practice.
8/23 - Official Pop Warner Weigh-In - The weigh-in will be held at 10am at the Oak Middle School in Shrewsbury. Busses will depart the Melican Middle School at 9:30am and return around Noon. Parents should plan to pick up the players at that time.
8/24 - Jamboree - The annual Pop Warner Jamboree will be held at Wachusett. More specifics TBD.
NOTICE The Midget A Team will not field a team in 2008 due to insufficient numbers.
'A' players are welcome to go to Westboro Pop Warner or be reimbursed on August 4th 2008 7:45 pm at the Melican Middle School during equipment night. If you decide to play you will receive equipment from NS and get instructions on Westboro Pop Warner, if you decide not to play you will be reimbursed that night.
'F' Team Tiny Mites - We still are at only 9 players and need more players to field a team. If no team is fielded instructions will follow on your options.

8/12 - MANDATORY Picture Night - Offical pictures will be taken at practice. No earrings please!
2008 NE Regional Cheerleading Championship Breakdown
November 1st or November 8th or November 15th, 2008 Regional Qualifiers (all Saturdays).
New England will have two (2) qualifiers and those winners will advance to the Regional Championships. Each qualifier will be a one day event. Details of venues and times are forthcoming.
November 22, 2008 Regional final Championships will be held at the DCU Center in Worcester, MA (Saturday). There will be two (2) sessions:
Jr. Pee Wee and Pee Wee compete - awards session for above
Jr. Midget and Midget compete - awards session for above

at Mike Vulcano's office which is above Brittany's Cafe.
Everyone is welcome to attend!
If anyone has a specific item that they would like to be discussed,
then it must be emailed to the secretary, Bill Dagle, at nsbod@jrthawks.com
at least 7 days in advance to get that item on the agenda. If Bill
does not get the agenda item, it will not be discussed until the following
board meeting.
GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS
Child Pickup:
Parents, please plan on arriving 5 - 10 minutes before practice ends. Parents should collect their children at either the practice field or the tennis courts. A Coach or assistant coach must remain with the players until they are all accounted for.
