EQUIPMENT

NSYFCA will provide cheer skirt, shell, warm-ups and cheer bag (to be returned at end of the season).  
Parents are responsible for purchasing cheer shoes, socks, midriff, briefs and a hair bow.(Required)

Uniform fitting will take place Wednesday, July 13, 3 PM - 5 PM at Algonquin Regional High School.  
At that time there will be a representative  from our uniform vendor available for parents to
purchase the necessary items.  If unable to attend please contact VP of Cheer, Lori Albert.
Please note CASH is the only method of payment accepted to purchase cheer items.

 

PRACTICE

 Practices are MANDATORY and will begin the first week of August. Practices days are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 5:45 PM until 8:00 PM for the month of August.  For the remainder of the season, practice will be held Wednesday and Friday (6PM - 8PM) and Saturday (10AM - 12PM) at ARHS which runs through October.
(please note days and times are subject to change; younger cheer levels will have less practice time,
specific details to be posted and communicated by coaches)
Most games are on Sundays but occasionally there can be a Saturday game.
 
Please note that un-excused absences may result in your cheerleader being unable to cheer at
that week’s game in addition excessive absences may result in removal from the squad.
It is very important for every cheerleader to be at every practice. 
Please notify your coach of any planned absences.

 

COMPETITIONS

 Central Mass Cheerleading has 2 competitions every year and we as members are strongly
encouraged to attend.  The first competition is Fun Comp which NSYFCA is excited to be hosting this 
year on Saturday, September 24th at Algonquin Regional High School in Northboro.  

The second competition is Locals.   This year Locals will be held Sat Oct 22nd at Tsongas Arena
 in Lowell, MA.  All Cheerleaders on a team ages 10 and above will be considered competing
cheerleaders, all cheerleaders on a team 8 and under will be considered exhibition cheerleaders.

If you place in the top 2 for your division at Locals you must move on to Regional’s
which will be held at the DCU Center in Worcester this year on November 27th.

If you place in the top 2 for your division at Regional’s
you must move on to Nationals which will be held in Orlando, FL on December 10th.
 

 

PAPERWORK

 The following paperwork is required and must be handed in at paperwork night 
July 28th (6PM - 8PM)  at Melican Middle School,  
Please note that we MUST have all paperwork by July 30 or your cheerleader will not be able to participate.

ORIGINAL Birth Certificate with raised seal 
(Please note the original birth certificate will be returned to you at equipment return night at the end of the season)
