Flex Program Overview

Flex Football is an exciting, limited-contact format designed for young athletes in grade K-3 to develop fundamental football skills in a safe, structured, and competitive environment. This program is ideal for players who want more than flag football but aren't quite ready for full-contact tackle football. 

With an emphasis on skill development, teamwork, and game strategy, Flex Football helps prepare athletes for future tackle play while keeping safety a top priority.

Registration Fee

$250 General Registration (April 16th- June 30th)

Teams

Flex Football is open to boys and girls in grades K-3. Teams are structured as follows:

  • 6U Team (6 and under): Co-ed team with a 16-player maximum
  • 8U Team (8 and under): Co-ed team with a 16-player maximum

(Additional registrants will be placed on a waitlist, with the potential to form additional teams.)

Game Play & Structure

  • Team Size: 9-on-9 format with linemen, skill positions, and blocking
  • Equipment: Players wear a soft-shell helmet and soft-shell shoulder pads, provided by the league
  • Playing Style: Wrap-and-release tackling, no full-speed collisions

Coaching & Safety

  • Certified Coaches: All coaches complete annual safety and coaching certifications, including concussion awareness, bullying prevention, and football fundamentals.
  • CPR & First Aid Trained: At least two coaches per team are certified in CPR and First Aid.
  • Safety-First Approach: Our goal is to teach proper technique and football fundamentals in a controlled environment to ensure a fun, developmental, and safe experience for all players.

Required Documentation

  • Birth Certificate: First-time participants must submit a certified birth certificate to show proof of age
  • AYF Player Packet: Required paperwork, provided upon registration
  • Medical Clearance: A recent physical or medical clearance is needed to participate

Equipment & Uniforms

as a player you will be loaned the follwing:
  • Soft-shell helmet
  • Soft-shell shoulder pads
Players Must Provide:
  • Mouth guard (mandatory)
  • Cleats (no metal spikes)
  • Protective Cup & Athletic Supporter (mandatory)-Example: Shock Doctor
  • Maroon Socks
  • Water bottle
