Cheer Program Overview

Northboro-Southboro Cheer is proud to be a member of American Youth Cheer, Inc.

NSYFCA cheer is a town-based program focused on promoting the wholesome introduction and development of youth cheerleading. Our teams are age based welcoming beginner through advance skill sets.

All teams 8U-14U are National track competitors. Rules and regulations are established to ensure participants play in an atmosphere of safety, having a competitive balance between teams.

Cheer Goals

  • To provide a wholesome competitiveness within the scope of our rules and regulations that will protect the youth athlete and cheerleader.

  • To teach the fundamentals and coordinate cheerleader activities.

  • To influence good sportsmanship, teamwork, highest moral and physical standards as well as the importance of scholarship and academic achievement.

Registration Fee  

$325 General Registration (April 16th- June 30th)

AGE GROUPS / TEAMS

Teams are determined by Divisional requirements of AYC (age cut-off date is 7/31)

Division - Age- Level *

Division 6 (6U) -Ages 4, 5, 6 (Exhibition - not National track)

Division 8 (8U) -Ages 5, 6, 7, 8

Division 10 (10U) Ages 7, 8, 9, 10

Division 12 (12U)Ages 9, 10, 11, 12

Division 14 (14U)Ages 11, 12, 13, 14

*Team competitive level to be determined

Our cheer program also provides opportunities to compete for local, regional and national championships. We encourage all our program participants to take part and be there to cheer for our cheerleaders. These events are located in Lowell, sometimes in neighboring states, and ultimately in Florida.

paperwork & required documentation

Our league is part of the Central Mass Youth Football and Cheer Conference (CMYFCC) which is affiliated with the American Youth Football (AYF) League.   AYF is the world's largest youth football and cheer league.    Being part of this conference/league requires us to follow certain policies and procedures for insurance purposes.   The following paperwork will need to be submitted to play:

  • Birth Certificates:  First-time participants must submit a certified birth certificate to show proof of age
  • AYF Player Packet:   Required paperwork, provided upon registration
  • Physical/Medical Clearance:   A recent physical or medical clearance is needed to participate

Equipment & Uniforms

cheerleaders will be loaned the following:

Pom Poms
Duffle Bag (Available for purchase)
Uniforms - Top & Skort

*** All items will need to be returned at the end of the season.  If items are lost or damaged, the parent or guardian will be responsible for repaying the league.

 

Cheerleaders will need to purchase the following personal items:

Cheer Shoes (all white)
Solid Black Leggings
White "no-show" socks
Warm Up Jackets $80.00 (Same as 2023/24 jacket. Payment due upon size submission)
